Four JBHS teachers to attend the highly regarded Conference of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in Orlando. Three of these teachers have been selected by NCTE to conduct a workshop on poetry based on their work in the JBHS Poetry Program. Participants from across the nation will engage in a variety of practices found useful in JBHS’s expanded approach to poetry education. The teachers will develop their workshop presentation into a manuscript to be submitted for publication. This session is an outgrowth of Jonathan Budd’s recent publication in English Leadership Quarterly (April, 2010) in which he discusses poetry education at JBHS and its possibilities for curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
